I personally stink at this game, but my kids and husband love it. OK, so it's the first one we bought when we got the Wii, but my almost 5 year old has mastered this game in one week. My kids LOVE this game. Great for anyone who likes driving video games. My almost 3 year old drives off the road often and places last, but he doesn't even care because he's having so much fun. Even when you "die" in this game, you still get to play because a little parachute drops you back off where you went off road. So many races to choose from, and so many options. Highly recommend it.
I am SO happy I decided to purchase this game guide. If you are a Mario Kart addict like me - this is a must for you. It shows so many tricks and hints on how to get "ahead of the pack". I especially found the selection on the differences in the vehicle and character selections can make on your races. I would tell you it would also make a perfect gift for another MK player you may know of, but why increase their chances of winning against you. :-)
This has been proven otherwise, as I found out while searching some of the internet gaming sites. My daughter and I got the guide after the game, to help us improve our scores and it certainly did that. This is a well-written, very helpful guide, with ONE minor but glaring error: It states that specific characters do not affect vehicle performance. Aside from that one imperfection, the guide is terrific, and well worth the investment. It has certainly enhanced our Mario Kart experience.
This book not only helped me unlock some of the fastest karts in the game, it helped me knock several seconds off each lap. The techniques, suggestions, and shortcuts are invaluable for the serious gamer, especially those that wish to dominate online.
